As a person in my position, I have seen firsthand how crucial it is for juveniles & at-risk youth to receive mentorship & support from adults. A lot of these youth do not have a strong support system at home or in their neighborhood, so it is life-changing for mentors to step in, volunteer their time & help them grow. It is important for the youth that are involved in the Juvenile Justice System & the Florida Juvenile Detention Centers to have mentors that can teach them, guide them & show care for them.   Helping youth change their lives & get out of the criminal justice system is both rewarding & moving. I know that the youth in Florida both want & need mentors, just as much as the mentors need the youth in order to have a life-changing & heartwarming experience!

Stepping foot into the JDC is potentially one of the most impactful things I have ever done, not because of who I can be, but because of who these kids are. They are incredible kids with beautiful futures and to be able to encourage them in that is a joy. I am deeply encouraged by the team in Orange County and the change and revival they desire to see in the lives of the youth in our city and their genuine care and love they display time and time again.
